About

Hey there! I’m Tony Flowers—a globe-trotting illustrator, author, and educator who’s been making wild things come to life on the page for over two decades. Whether it’s a cheeky ninja in Samurai vs Ninja or a 3D illusion hidden in my graphic novel, Divi & Frey, I believe stories should leap off the page and tickle your brain.
By day, I teach design and creative thinking at the University of Tasmania (yes, that island with the dramatic skies and wallabies), and by night I dream up new adventures with my characters Divi and Frey, inspired by my wanderings through cities, cultures, and cafés around the world.

My work’s taken me from Australian schoolrooms to international adventures, sketching, storytelling, and sharing the magic of illustration with anyone who’ll listen. I believe creativity should be messy, joyful, and just a little bit rebellious.
If you’re curious about the latest scribbles, travel inspirations, or how I turn jetlag into storylines, you’ve come to the right place.
Pull up a virtual beanbag, explore the blog, and let’s get lost in the pages together.
Tony

    Hi Tony,

I just wanted to let you know I got a call from Sonia Andersen at the Whitsunday Voices Festival and they want me to be a presenter next year. This is very exciting for me and really all down to your recommendation. Thanks you so much for doing that. I appreciate it hugely.

Maybe I’ll see you at the SCWBI Xmas gathering? Hope so.

    Cheers,

    Harry

    Hi Tony

I need an author, illustrator for next year. I am based at Belrose PS. on the Northern Beaches in Sydney. I know that you live in Canberra. Would this be a problem for you ? Do you have somewhere to stay in Sydney/. I don’t really want to pay your travel costs as it is very hard to get money out of my students. What do you think

    Thanks Kirsten Wedlock
